The bruh bruh yung @xskywlkrx killin it in Oakland last night (at The New Parish Oakland)
NanosauR takes us on a #BASED adventure with “Based internet”, an instrumental that pays homage to The Based God, using vocal samples from his interview with Nardwuar, shouting out carpel tunnel. But it’s bigger than just the short, playful jab that Lil B takes back at Nardwuar. In that 2011 interview, Lil B explained just how significant the internet had been and would continue to be to his progress as an artist. Grabbing this historical snippet allows Nano to perform a song that is conceptually and musically cohesive.
It’s clear that Nano chose to refer to the Nardwuar interview in order to expose the effect that the internet had on Lil B’s career. Lil B is able to throw his middle finger up at record labels and musical expectations by developing his internet presence. He reaches out to fans, making music that impacts them on a personal level. By tying his success to the connective effects of the internet, Lil B was able to create a uniquely ever-topical, ever-personal sound presence. That’s #BASED.
In order to not fall victim to the tired syndrome of simply calling something #BASED, and walking away from it, Nano chooses to examine the sounds of #BasedWorld. He explores #BASED positivity through sound with a short loop that revolves around trance-inducing synth keys, unassuming deep bass drums, soft hi-hats, and snares used to drop in a chanting female vocal sample. Just as Lil B widely-spread his influence and cultivated his own influences from the internet, so does this track’s sounds spread. Its space is tangible, vaporous, and accepting.
Nano’s soft interpretation of the #BASED lifestyle through sound captures the aura of #BasedNam with a play between soft//expanding//refreshing sounds. Although he may not translate the entire “internet” into a set of sounds (how could he?), he carefully refers to some of the most #BASED elements of sound in Lil B’s archives. Nano is successful at translating the effect that the internet has had on Lil B as an artist, and as an individual.

The very talented DJ and producer, who was on tour with Danny Brown Skywlkr and Kitty Pryde, drops off a new and very based production. The track is titled, Based Internet, and sounds exactly like the title, Based. Nanosaur delivers a eerie and hypnotic beat with some lush vocals and everything in between. Listening to something like this when your in a bad mood is very soothing. Check it out below and support.
